Worship is the central act of the people of God, and which marks us as followers of Jesus Christ. We worship together in community in order to remember who God is, and who we are in God. Worship re-members us (or reconnects us) to a story greater than ourselves, and at the Table, we receive strength and grace for the journey, equipped to move out in compassionate service to others in the name of Jesus. You are invited to join us as we experience God’s grace together in worship.
We offer two services on Sunday morning.
This service is a bit more informally participatory and flexible, with music leadership changing week to week; you might hear a choir or a praise band, handbells or our youth choir. We employ both ancient and modern prayers and creeds, celebrate weekly communion, and share a special time with the children.
Our 11:00 a.m. service is a bit more traditional in style, with our chancel choir leading music, congregational hymns, historic creeds, and prayers. A special time with a message for children is a part of the service, and the sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.
What to Expect
Regardless of what service you attend, we invite you to worship with us and you should expect a warm welcome! All of our services are “come as you are” — whether you are most comfortable in dressy clothes or old jeans, you have a place here.
We have a well-staffed Nursery for your little ones, infant through age 5, open from 8:00 a.m. until 12:20 p.m. on Sunday. The Nursery is currently located below the Sanctuary. No reservations are required for Sunday morning.
Sunday School classes are available for all ages on Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m.
You will find a Sunday school greeter just inside Sanders Hall (our fellowship hall) who will be glad to direct you to a class that is consistent with your interests.

NEXT STEPS: GET CONNECTED
Finding a home church can be a difficult process; the decision is personal, spiritual, and practical. STARTING POINT is a 45 minute informal gathering scheduled several times during the year providing an opportunity to get to know our pastoral and program staff, to hear more about Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church, and to connect with our many opportunities for growth and service. Click here for information about the next scheduled STARTING POINT gathering and to sign up to attend.
If you are interested in becoming a member at Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church, there are three ways to unite with the church:
- transfer membership from another United Methodist church
- transfer membership from another denomination
- profession of faith (if you have not been a member of another church)
We receive new members in our worship services. Those joining the congregation come forward and are introduced to the congregation. There are three questions that are asked of those joining the church:
- Do you accept Jesus as your personal Savior?
- With the help of God’s grace, will you live your life according to the teachings of Jesus and continue to grow in your faith?
- Will you support the church with your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service and your witness?
The congregation responds with their encouragement, support and prayers, along with their own recommitment to their own membership promises.
